I've been carrying the Benchmade 300-1 flipper for the last two weeks. I made a video with some of my thoughts. If I had ever played with an axis lock and knew you could flip the knife open by holding the lock, I'm not sure I would have gotten the flipper.
Add bolt cutters to your BOB. If the highways get jammed and it's life and death, you can cut the locks / links on access road gates. In a real emergency that requires relocation, rules of the road no longer need be followed. With a truck, medians and access roads can be used. I became keenly aware of people to follow the rules even to their peril, after a storm passed thru PA a few years ago that shut down a highway and caused people to get stuck in fast falling snow. A backup of 50 miles closed the road for two days and the national guard had to walk the highway to give people food / gas. PA 2007 Storm backs up 50 miles of highway
adding the wrench on the outside is a really good idea that Im sure mayn NEVER even consider, really thinking ahead.
considered cash?
If you think of past major events, cash is king. PMs will be of use once things settle down and you can convert to the prevailing currency. Is this meant to be a supplement to your BOB? Do you include assets is your kit?
Unsure really. Kinda like buying insurance. Why do we have it?
Because Im forced to by our government, which I dont agree with.
Health, life, car, home? I assume you are referring to health insurance. I'd be fine if they allowed insurance opt outs, but I'd insist on a la cart medical pricing and for anything but immediate life saving care, you need proof of financial viability to receive care.
Bust your finger: Here's the price for an initial Dr visit - $x X-ray to confirm - $x Ortho specialist - $x Supplies (splint, gauze, tape) - $x
If a medical Dr writes a base level course of action and you decide to not follow the outline, any related disability from neglecting care, would disqualify you from seeking a disability claim with Social security.
I also know people that bury precious metals on their property. I'm on board with BOBs and Go bags. I can also understand the idea of hiding PMs, but I don't think caches make sense for my small plot of land. I couldn't bury it or dig it up without someone seeing me.
That would be cool. Do you have a youtube account? If you could, also get video of responding units and maybe do a breakdown on the trucks and other equipment used.
