Are there options for sturdier clips that could be added? I appreciate you telling me about your experience with the clips.
Did you like the light itself?
You could try a clip from a Fisher Bullet pen, but it has to bend a bit to fit, and I didn't find it to be particularly secure. batteryjunction.com also has Fenix AAA clips I think, but I think the retaining ring part or whatever you call the part that clips to the light is too tall to fit in the groove. Other than that, I'm not sure.
No, I actually really dislike maratacs. I'll never understand the point of putting the medium or high mode before low mode in the UI. I use Low more than anything, so maybe it's just me, but it seems counter intuitive to me to have a higher output come before a lower output.
I also think that they machine the threads to the head way too loosely. I always had trouble switching modes with one hand, because if you barely pull the head down, it moves the entire head down enough to accidentally make contact and quickly flick through all the modes without wanting to. If I'm holding it one handed, the butt of it is pressed into my palm, so it's kind of natural for my fingers to try and pull the entire head down when I'm just trying to twist it side to side. It's pretty finnicky, imo, and I hate it. Maratac might be my least favorite flashlight I've ever owned when you account for everything.

Folks I figure I should post a thread about it. Mentioned it in the shoutbox the other night, but wanted to make sure all saw this/get full range of opinion
I am not carrying my Fenix E05 on my keychain any longer/as much. Dont get me wrong, I love the light and it'll spend time in a bag as a backup, but I want to get it off of the keychain. And I DONT want it riding in the bottom of my pocket. I want to get a smallish light that has a pocket clip on it.
For example, I've been looking at/considering the Maratac AAA in Copper www.massdrop.com/buy/maratac-copper-aaa-flashlight I think the size will be great, as well as offering a couple levels of lm, maxing at 130, which will be more than enough, usually only need/want 40
So I like the size, I like that it comes with a clip and wont be jingling around in the bottom of my pocket with anything else (ie an ALOX or LM) And the price is nice - 43 bucks shipped.
But should I look at/consider any other light in the sub $50 range?
Please let me know, open to suggestions and if you can post or link pics that'd be awesome too
If you get a maratac, your light will be jingling at the bottom of your pocket sooner or later. They have shit pocket clips. I've had I think 3 maratacs, and the clips broke on two of them. The other one I didn't have long enough for it to break, but I'm pretty confident that it would have.
Personally, I'd recommend something like a Thrunite T10S. It has some good modes, Thrunite is general an okay brand for the price, and it has a super sturdy looking pocket clip. It's a AA flashlight, though.

I would recommend setting deadlines for when you should ship. That way you have something to aim for instead of pushing it off until December 23 and realizing "OH SHIT".
Say... December 15 for shipping within US50, and December 1 for international. That should give plenty of time for things to show up before Christmas day.
Although international shippers should look to mail as soon as possible, because you never know how long it'll take.

So, T sent me some goodies from NYCC. It was delivered on Saturday, but in the infinite wisdom of the mail person, they leaned it up against the back of a lawnmower in the shed no particularly close to a mailbox, so it got rained on all day sunday. Luckily it was in a plastic bag inside the box, though.
A big foam chainsaw to go on my hand A magazine thingy, a little promo card, a comic book, an Ash vs The Evil Dead button, a weeaboo looking lanyard, a bunch of stickers, and a trading card sized art print of Ashley J. Williams
Sweet score from a con I didn't even go to
Thanks boo

Kilted Creature (It's a dude that dresses up like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, wears a kilt, and plays a bagpipe) stuff. Chocolate Habanero hot sauce and a patch
...Unfortunately, I forgot my camera when I left, so I didn't get pictures of his reaction when I presented him with the LEGO stuff. However, he's printing a book of fan art in the next month or two, and pictures of my LEGO are going to be published in it He gave me a goodie bag full of discontinued items. A few art prints, a magnet, some of the Death By Baby and Family Mal-use mini comics, and some little blank Q Cumbersome police citations. GUESS WHO'S GETTING Q CUMBERSOME STUFF FOR CHRISTMAS (hint: all of you. All of you are getting some.)
But most importantly, I bought the first book of the comic series. It'll be gifted (along with other shit) for Secret Santa.
