Update! I'm about done with the contents. Last decision is what goes in the glass jar. I'm thinking pills and first aid stuff?
Also, I will be taping an inexpensive set of channel lock pliers to the tube before burial. For the cap. Will have a final pic of this first one soon.
Went to Lowe's today and bought more tubes and caps too
So here's the rundown:
Tarp .22 and 9mm ammo vac bagged 50 feet of poly rope 5 large heavy duty zip ties Cup with gloves, knife, spork, multitool Foldable shovel pouch with duct tape roll, paracord, and additional razor knife inside Glass ball jar with dessicant pack and FAK stuff inside (?)
Unsure really. Kinda like buying insurance. Why do we have it? Just in case, I guess. A little home made insurance and peace of mind for little out of pocket and a hobby-like project gives me something to do
The most convincing thing for me was the roughly $30 I would spend on the whole deal (just this one) and have something stashed and hidden at BOL #1. Of course the next project I would love to take on is a cargo trailer of some sort that I fix up as a livable space and leave at the old home site and can visit frequently and actually stay a couple days. Not there yet though.
Luckily for me, I have a large plot of land about 2.5 hours out by highway. I'll bury some long storing food next, then place a couple along the way. The in-between caches will be the challenge as far as not my property/being seen. Should be fun though.
REI or Gander? Not close to me, but yeah, Target had Gerber tools and SAKs. Probably try to catch one on the bay or amazon for a good deal. Thinking Wingman at the moment.
for the MT, whatever you think will be best for your situation. I really like having a Wave on me, so many tools on it but not too huge.
I see you have a sawyer mini filter and a lifestraw, couldnt you ditch one and save the space and weight?
Headed to Target for a little walk anyways, so I'll check out some Leatherman MTs there. The lifestraw is pretty light as-is, but yes, it would save a small amount of space if something else needed to go in. Thanks!
