Here's a quick brainstorming game. Just for fun.
Production only, including mid-techs and production customs. Not including bastard on-offs your friend made.
Build you perfect knife. Blade shape, Steel, Lock type, Material type, Size category, something I overlooked.
Here's any example for the slow one's in the group.
Blade: Boker Gnome Steel: 1095 Lock: Liner Material: Cocobolo Size: Native 5 SIOL: Your mom's a ho.
If your prefect knife already exists because you're a douche who likes to settle for other peoples ideas, GTFO.

Hinderer XM grip Demko-Lock Pingo-style blade, scaled up to 3", chisel ground. CPM S30V or CPM S35VN Liners and blade, 1/4" thick. I like to overcompensate. Yellow G-10 for slabs.

Negative, Max: I only like sports where vehicles drive fast around left- and right-hand corners.
Partly because yellow is different, yes. Also because it helps convey the impression of "cutting tool", not "sharp thing for hurting people".
Safety Orange is the next Tactical Black, and Zombie Green is overdone as well. Orange is starting to get this reputation as the color of "Hardcore Rescue Tools", and certain shades of green have gotten lumped together with the "Zombie Apocalypse Resistance Front".

Blade: clip point 3.5 inches. BO Steel: AUS 8 or 440c < go ahead flame away... Lock: frame lock or back lock. Material: TI and Tire Rubber scales size: Endura
It would resemble an Emerson CQC 13 complete with wave and thumb disk. but with either a TI framelock or a backlock The tire rubber has been an idea of mine for a while. and the blade would have a high scandi grind. also a built in steel pommel ala Cold steel AK-47 and on the blade it would say Farm yard <cursive TAC< stencil. yellow font.

AUS-8 and 440-C are nothing to be ashamed of, but both need proper heat treat, and 440-C can chip out if not treated right.
Titanium is expensive to machine, so be ready to pay.
Tire Rubber requires very slow-setting epoxy: try to get the 24-hour cure stuff.
I have a fixed blade here I put stall mat scales on. Pinned them with bamboo and epoxied them on. Great grip even wet. Would definitely do it again. Best part, it keeps your sanding belts clean. 8-)

the biggest reason for tires is at the farm we have thousands but we only use about 300 or so, the surplus ones just sit there and collect all sorts of bad things (snakes, bees and mosquitos) so this would be a cheap and blentiful way to get rid of an annoyance. + trust me any stall mats that we have are not ones you'd want to put your hands on.
