Length- 13.5mm Measurement across the flats- 9mm Inside bore- 4.75mm
This bead is fresh off of the sanding/lapping block (600 grit) and has quite a few stages still to come. Once that's done the wood will oxidize into the purple color and get a protective finish applied.
I've been watching Q's knife build for awhile and the use of chainring bolts to attach the scales captured my interest. I ordered two of them from eBay in Titanium and got them today.
I think they will make an interesting bead so I have made the bushings for a mandrel. This will allow me to turn a square/flat piece of material round for the center of the bead. Wood,Acrylic,G10, etc.
A quick one with Box Elder to prove that it's doable...
