Maybe she just has a preferred way to make her tea. I know a lot of coffee lovers that are very particular about how they make their coffee. Burr grinders, electric kettles set at 195 degrees F, french press with stainless screen, etc. Why can't someone be a tea snob, too? I have an Aeropress for coffee when I want a really good cup. Also have a single cup cone to make one cup at a time. But who drinks one cup a day anymore?
For coffee I'm an electric kettle + French press person. haha Mostly 'cause I have it at my disposal and I prefer it over the standard coffee maker. :P
I enjoy coffee several ways. Depends on where I am and what I am doing. I'll have cowboy coffee while camping. You know, pot of water, through the coffee in and let it brew for a bit. Take it off the fire and let the grounds settle then pour a cup. Filter out the grounds that come out with your teeth.
I have a coffee maker at the house for when I am lazy. The Aeropress is a nice cup. Really depends on the bean I have available. Have a Moka pot that needs a new filter. That is actually a good cup. Well, supposed to be 6 espresso sized cups. But, I drink the whole pot at once.
It's about the kit :MAAH: This is an EDC gear forum after all, isn't it? Oh my, maybe it is because I'm on topic?
Really, I only drank fruit, herbal or black teas in the past and never liked green tea because I always tried the shitty stuff from the local supermarkets and those were always bitter and disgusting. After shit hit the fan last year I found out that green tea is supposed to have some healing properties and I was at a point where I was ready to try everything - the more the merrier! After I've read that Gyokuro has one of the highest amounts of EGCG, I bought it in a tea store and prepared it exactly how it was instructed, I would have drunken it anyways even if it would have been bitter, but suprisingly it wasn't and even tasted good. I've tried a lot of green teas in the last months and found that some still taste bad even if prepared properly and (luckily) a lot green teas taste good if prepared with the right temperature.
So my tea kit persists of the Nalgene with holder, a tea strainer, thermometer, mug and spoon - I would still need that stuff if I buy the tea in the US

I like gunpowder green tea. May have to try the Gyokuro one next time. I don't buy it often, but, once in a great while I want some good green tea. Usually in the winter I'll start drinking it again when its too cold for iced tea. Coffee to start my day and green tea to end it.

So, I take it this means Salt Lake City is definitely a stop on your whirlwind tour of the west coast? Great. I will look forward to meeting you in person, dear.
I'll start making some phone calls and start lining up firearms to go out and play with. Just hand guns? Or any guns?
