You know we have green tea in every grocery store in the united states, right? It's not like it's a foreign concept here. As snooty as you euros might be.
Really? Who would have guessed that (<- sarcasm)
But I am picky about my green tea
And I am not snooty, I just like to be prepared

Not all of them have coffee makers. The ones I stay in for work don't. But, they have coffee and hot water dispensers in the lobby available all hours.

I guess a kettle isn't that expensive over there, right?
I can't remember the last time I was in a hotel or motel that didn't have a tiny coffee maker in it. And I like staying in the shithole ones. I'm cheap and I like to think of it as an adventure.

Depends. You want an electric one or one to use on a stove/fire?
I have a tea press cup. Put the loose tea in, pour your hot water, let it steep, and then press down the plunger to separate the leaves. I usually just drink it from that cup but you can pour it out into a different one if you need sugar in your tea.
I drink at least halt a liter green tea every day to help me keeping well and fit
So no fucking way I would do without green tea for 3 weeks on my USA trip
So I built myself a tea and mess kit
Now I only have to buy a kettle as soon as I arrive :yay2:
You made it sound like the US is tea-less. :P
And you'll have tea a-plenty when you come visit me. :) I live smack dab in the middle of one of the largest Asian communities. Asian tea is at your disposal. I think American tea tastes funny - unless it's thai style milk tea, I drink my stuff straight... no sugar/honey/cream.
