Yup it's an older model with their silent and waterproof (hydratic) material. Meanwhile they have an extra - and even more expensive - professional hunting line. As a hunter I get 15%-20% discount on their whole range at my local dealer.

They didn't have those models in my local store, but I've seen those online. It's a ridiculous amount of money for a pair of pants imo, I don't even have flashlights or folding knives that cost that much, haha. But they're worth it if they last long enough I guess. A discount would sure be nice
I finally reminded to use the Dr. Bonner Magic Soap today, instead of grabbing what I normally use not fully awake yet.
It's a little weird
It really smells like almond spice right out of the bottle, but the smell seems to disappear almost completely once you rinse it off. I expected it to be a really thick substance but it's almost as thin as water. It foams a bit when you rub it on your skin but not a lot (when I did the dishes with it this afternoon it wasn't foaming at all), and afterwards your skin feels a bit like when you wash it with an old fashioned bar of soap. We have a word for it in dutch but I couldn't find a proper English translation for it unfortunately. It's a bit like rubbing a inflated balloon if that makes any sense.
It is a great degreaser though, I suspect it will work well on car wheels and the likes of it as well.
I can't really fault it, but for some reason I still have mixed feelings about this stuff. I'd really like to try out the Aloe Vera variant they make as well (it's still sold out at the place I bought this).
I think I'm gonna try out the Sea to Summit stuff as well before deciding what to bring on my trip.

Do you wax yours often?
Usually after every second wash. At the beginning the "factory wax" held quite a bit.
Alright, the last pound of weight to add to my backpack arrived this morning:
It's a Powermonkey Extreme solar-charger. This will be used to charge my Samsung Galaxy Tab, GPS & Quantum DD out in the woods. I thought about looking for a small RCR123A charger I can hook up to it as well, but I think I'll just stick to a couple of regular CR123 bats for my Olight S10 since they last pretty long anyway.
I'm still playing around with it but so far it seems like a very nice bit of kit. It comes with a variety of plugs in a little drawstring bag, a pretty nice case for the solar panel & 9000mAh battery, & a mains-charger with plugs for most of the world as well. I only had to buy a small adapter for my Galaxy Tab. It's too early to tell how quick it'll charge, but to my surprise it did charge today even though we're having a really clouded day here with lots of overcast.
