Walked outside yesterday morning and it was freaking cold. Like 50°F. That got me thinking. For EDC purposes (not necessarily camping, hiking) what are your cold weather upgrades?
Glove recommendations? Is there such a thing as warm and dextrous? Hats? Have to keep my ears covered. NOTHING worse than cold ears. Boots? For minor snow maybe? Coats and Jackets? Carhartt any good? How about woobies and flannels?
What changes do you make? What brands do you prefer?

Love Carhartt. Own two of them. A Ridge coat and Chore coat. Can't beat a Russian Bomber hat to keep your ears warm if you can tolerate the look. I usually wear thermal bottoms all winter long. For boots, I usually just buy a good insulated hunting boot. They are usually more durable than a hiker. Typically choose 8-10" height because Utah can and does get a fair amount of snow in winter. Still looking for the perfect glove though. Like a nice insulated leather chore glove from the local farm supply store. I lose some dexterity, but, I compromise. Never like wearing gloves while working. Wear them when riding.
No preferred brands for clothing, but I do make sure I waterproof my boots. I like leather boots year round. I use a couple different products. Been using Foggy Mountain Bear Guard waterproofer the last couple years. Made from beeswax and bear fat. Works pretty good. Sno Seal is another good one. Obenauf's Heavy Duty is the best I have tried. Bear Guard is a close second. Obenauf's was designed for smoke jumpers and wildland fire fighters. If it keeps their feet dry in those condiditions, it will keep mine dry in anything I can throw at it.
woobies?? rhymes with boobies are they boobie warmers?
carhartt is great- hoodies, jackets, hats, gloves, socks....carhartt is my go to for work and winter gear and i've yet to be disappointed. they have just about everything you could want. not to mention they have a huge womans section (& kids!).
i have yet to find gloves that are warm + dextrous, and i've been looking. found a nice pair of columbias but they were $100+
MechanixWear has some insulated ones, but haven't tried them. Have found some cotton insulated ones that are rubber dipped for grip. They work ok. I want bare hand dexterity for work and there is nothing even close. Regular uninsulated MechanixWear comes close, but don't keep hands warm in subzero conditions like my work truck.

Woobies are fleece pullovers so yes.

i have 2 pair of mechanixwear and they are good as far as dexterity goes, but suck in cold & snow. they are just glorified bitch gloves aka fancy working gloves for people who dont want to get their hands or nails dirty.

Ouch. I just got a pair of their leather vibration gloves for camping so I don't bust my precious carving hands.

I like those flip top mitten things. Had some knit ones last year. Going to try fleece/microfiber this year.

The Mexicans in the greenhouse I used to work at all wore peruvian beanies in winter. Google it. They look like a knit cap with earwarmers knitted into them. Have thought about finding one and trying it this winter. The old shaved melon gets a bit chilly in the winter
uhm, lets see, gloves: if it really gets cold scarf: always, even now already hat: not that much, but might buy one this year jacket: depends, sometimes just a softshell jacket + a wool pullover, or a coat boots: went through the last cold winter with basically my Salomon shoes and two pairs of socks, kept warm and dry hehe. Sometimes also boots.
I do add my thermo bottle with some hot tea sometimes, especially when I went to school. Might start this again...
