Hey folks,
since I'm back from my one year adventure it's time to step up in the game and get some fancy smartphone brick. I'm going to college now and a mobile device for internet browsing (not much, a bit) and most likely more calls etc. is in order. There aren't any things fix yet, but there might be the decision between the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, the S4 mini and the HTC one mini. I need to check a bit on the plans, depending how it goes they are equal from price.
I'm totally out of business and have no idea, so I'd like you to help me to get through the pros and cons and leading to a decision.
Use (so far I can look into the future):
- mobile internet apps (news, facebook, EDCS, puplic transport schedules)
- E-mail (I'd like to prefer to write from my computer my mails, but depending on where I am there might be no WI-FI and then it might be useful)
- Calling (yes, I like to call others rather than write a text, and I'll be out a lot more (whole day Uni instead of half day school, so it might be important as well)
- texting (I started it in the Philis doing a lot, so might continue and I'll program it in a way I'm only reachable via txt and call during uni (except lunch break))
- Bit of music on the go (I'm not that much into listening to music while commuting, only if I'm on a longer trip and then I might take my iPod anyway)
- Gaming (not that important, reading some stuff, maybe one or two fun games, not more)
- size: it should fit in my jeans pockets. It's kinda funny that everywhere is written mini, these phones are bigger than my old one and bigger than my iPod touch, not that mini at all
I hope that covers the first attempt.
A short first impression about the phones
Samsung Galaxy S3 mini
Pros:
- cheapest phone
- smallest phone
Cons:
- worst display
- oldest one (planning to use my phone again 4-5 years)
Samsung Galaxy S4 mini
Pros:
- fancy display (better than S3 mini)
- NFC chip (wanted to try it out, might be more important in future, only phone with it
- new (this year)
- expandable storage (up to 64 GB)
Cons:
- plastic case
HTC One min:
- super fancy display
- nice aluminium body
Cons:
- no NFC
- fix 16 gig storage
I hope you can help me at least a bit getting through this. It's amazing what amounts people pay for their phones atm. Especially students. The prices are kinda steep and there is not really an option, but I first have to figure out the stuff with the plans and financing, then I'll know more about that point. So far only the phones itself are important.
TIA
Cheers
