The thing with the '54 WIllys is, I would have to find the title. I think it is still technically in my cousin's name and he has the title. But, it has been parked at Dad's for 35 years so possession being 9/10ths the law..... It hasn't been started in probably 30 years. It would need a complete overhaul on a motor that is very hard to source parts for. Yes, I could convert it to Chevy power or Ford, but, something about a bone stock '54 Willys is just cool. I could probably even drop in a Jeep motor out of a CJ along with the transmission and some Dana 44s front and rear. I am in Utah after all, I need rock crawling abilities. 5 1/2 hours from Moab.
This is what Moab is best known for. Red rock 4 wheeling.
Yes, I want to go. No, I haven't been, yet. My Bronco II went places it shouldn't have and made it out. Just imagine what trouble fun I could have in a properly equipped Jeep. Lockers front and rear, winch, all the goodies.

Unimog would be a blast in the desert and the snow. Deuce and a half has crossed my mind, just a bit big.
I have wanted a Jeep since before high school. Same with the VW buggy. Buggy would get better fuel economy, Jeep would be better in all weather conditions. And, since Utah gets snow and sometimes lots of it, I think the wife would prefer me to get a Jeep or something similar.
If we are bringing up Unimog, have to mention Pinzgauers.
There is a 6 wheel version also. I know there is a place in western Colorado that sells them. Fully enclosed, 4WD, military surplus, what else could you ask for? Make it into an all season camper.
Those little 6 wheel toys like the Monster Max are a blast. And, they float. Perfect for the end of the world apocalypse when all the polar ice caps melt. Just keep trucking. The 8 wheeled variants are even more fun.
I don't think the local state troopers would like the machine gun mounted on the sidecar though. Does a concealed weapons permit allow me to mount a machine gun on my motorcycle? :P

Hey, if this guy can have a shotgun on his Harley I don't see why you can't have a machine gun on yours
I'm sorry to hear about your crash btw, I ran in to the thread yesterday but got disturbed before I could finish reading it & post. I hope it all heals well! What kinda bike did you have the accident on?
2007 Kawasaki KLR650. Bought it ride the mountain roads with. Used it as a commuter Monday through Friday. Rode it all over. Was my only means of transportation :) Miss it a lot. Family keeps telling me no more bikes. Wife has a Suzuki 250 she rides around. I've been on it off and on lately (don't tell the doctor) and it's alright, just not big enough for me. I stand 6'8" (2m roughly) and her bike is tiny.
Hence the thread to find me a 4 wheeled vehicle. Which wasn't my idea. I asked what bike I should get next and this thread got started. Oh well, giving me ideas for a cage.
The only one that does 60 mph is the two models they are making for the Prince of Dubai. I watched a couple videos and read the page. But, that would be a riot to ride around town. Beats a Segway out of the water.
Oh, and the wife walked in while I was watching one of the videos and asked what it was and said it looked fun as hell.
