So the longer I go on, the more I know I really need a good GHB get-up. Though the weather wasnt too bad here in NC (about an inch of snow), I see on TV where people in ATL were stuck on the highways for over 12 hours, many abandoning their cars. I try to think about what I had in my car when it started snowing on Tuesday, and what would I have done. Problem is, I wasnt very prepared. Sure, I had about 1600ml/54oz of water, one MRE and some crackers that I keep in my school bag for snacks, a FAK (wouldnt have been needed in this situation), and a sleeping bag. So I couldve stayed warm, and had some food. But 12-18 hours? Probably not been very confident in my stuff.
So let me start this reply by going back to an earlier post I made - I've since added a small/basic FAK to my school bag.
As for the SCARE bag linked in OP - man, that dude is out of control. Sorry, but if you have a mob of people coming down on you - think they'll REALLY care if you pull out a badge? I dont think it is illegal to have them (probably varies by state), but I dont recommend any badges unless its legit LEO. You'll likely just piss them off more by flashing that bullshit.
Disguise - nah, not into that either.
So I picked up that LBT bag recently, and hope to get some things to kit it up a bit this weekend at the gun show
But Im trying to think of what to fill it with.
I want something that will change slightly with the seasons (no need in packing shorts in January or Feb etc), but there are many basic things that wouldbe useful all year long.
I dont expect to survive out of the bag for days, but maybe one day in case I was stuck and couldnt get home til the next night
-multitool (have a wave on hip, but having another in the bag wouldnt hurt just in case I were in dress pants that day and not wearing the Wave)
-light - Fenix E05 on keychain, but may toss my E11 in the bag or something similar in size and output
-food - MRE and maybe other items like some PB or granola bars?
-FAK - nothing crazy, no need for suture kit etc, but some pain pills and bandaids etc mostly
-extra shirt(s) - Im a heavy sweater, so if I had to do much physical activity then my shirt would be wet and cold at this time of year (I do keep a spare shirt in my school bag too, just in case, cause being sweaty in class sucks)
-I USUALLY have a spare pair of shoes in the car, but need to put some good socks in with that, wool that would stay warm in winter even when wet
-rain poncho - it might be raining
-pens/sharpies/notebooks - write notes to myself or doodle etc, something to keep me entertained and conserving phone battery just in case Im stuck a bit.
-I want a fixed blade knife. I have one, but want something more legit
I dont expect issues like the SCARE bag guy, but I do wonder if a few extra rounds wouldnt hurt. I mean, people get wild sometimes. For about 3 or 4 bucks I could have enough ammo for two more mags worth (keep gun loaded and also have a spare mag with me).
I dont want to get too loony, so not looking for trip wire or repelling from a building (this will be in the car), but what else could I be forgetting?
Been thinking about one of the EOD Breacher Bars, not sure if any of you have experience with that.
CRITIQUE! Give me ideas
thanks
