I will try to do something with the PT... I have so many knives and ideas in my mind sometimes I feel like I don't think about anything else. Ideally I want a large Sebenza with inlays or an Umnumzaan. A friend is offering an SNG locally so might give that a shot...
For the past 4 weeks I got no mail at all, despite about 6 packages being sent to me from the US. Last Thursday I got a letter to come to the customs office in the capital to pick up a package from TED. I presumed it was books, and it indeed was, but I felt stupid driving 80 miles there and back. Also had to pay 20$ in customs fees. As an attendee of TEDActive, you automatically become a member of the TED book club and they randomly send out cool books for free. Here they are:
The ginormous one is an encyclopedia with illustrations by Fritz Kahn, early 20th century illustrator, scientist and writer. The drawings are really interesting and portray his vision of the human anatomy. The black one is called "Ship of Theseus" by M. Straka.
It's special because it's written in such a way that you have the book and two people exchanging notes on the margins. The handwriting is so authentic that I can't believe this was printed. There are also random notes, postcards, newspaper clippings and many other tidbits strewn about across the pages. Finally got some free time and I will start reading now.
The third book is about new technologies by a guy I don't like so that book can suck my balls for the time being.
Since I'm really lazy about posting pics too, I got my knives back from sharpening last week. There's a local guy who can do wonders with the Edge Pro Apex. My PT was beyond repair for my Sharpmaker skills, so I sent it along with the ZT0560 which had a nasty nick in the blade, very noticeable.
Jason aka Jerome sent me this Domino 4 weeks ago, just got it today.
Really like this knife, a lot more than Sage 1. Sadly as you guys said, CF is pretty tacky. Not yet sure if I'll keep this one. I took it apart and although it has bearings like the 0560, no matter what I did I couldn't get is as smooth as the 0560. Here are some more pics.
Mail call! The Benchmade and Scrambler are from Ryan Kelley at rkblades.com, super nice guy, awesome prices, and ships to Siberia with no complaint! The amazing wood is from my man chong, gonna get it cut today, that burl is a-ma-zing. The RAT and Thermite from the cool fucker known as just Johnny, he also included an awesome bullet bead! This thing is heavy and beautiful, will see how it fits on my keys, I gotta carry this one to trip people out
I got an actual job I will be working part time in the International Relationships office at my college It's temporary, for a year, and instead of paying me they will pay for my PhD tuition, which is even better
