Massdrop if full of really great prices and motivated vendors. Like kickstarter it puts power into the hands of the consumer directly. Pretty revolutionary shit actually.

Thanks EDB, i still use the full size myself, which work great in my jeans, but I have been working on a medium and mini version...what is "cqi"?
strength has not been an issue with the copper/brass mok unit yet... but the mokume is softer for sure. I havent priced out timascus but its $85 for enough mokume to make a single GP...expensive for sure.

"hey Gamble, cheers for the brass GearPull. I've been using it but unfortunately it's a bit too big. Dangles too far into the pocket. I guess you've seen this as the newer prototypes seem to be getting a bit smaller. CQI is good.
The mokume looks nice but very expensive. How is it strength-wise? Not exactly for hard use, but could it stand up to daily usage as in your danglers and not split? Due to age or wear, hopefully not heat.
How does the copper and brass mokume-gane compare to timascus cost-wise? Maybe some could be used for decorative purposes. Like it better as the copper ages anyway."
Yes, It's Mokume-Gane ("woodgrain-metal"), the metal is actually 2 or three different ones combined by forging. Two of those are copper/brass/nickel-silver and the other 2 are just copper/nickel-silver. The pattern gets a lot more pronounced as the copper patinas and goes dark.
I can see your point. But in the context of my original post I wasn't being disrespectful to anyone. I don't even think I claimed to have directly solved the problem...actually the problem of one handed retrieval only applies to caribiner carry, or outside pocket carry in general. Since the GP rides in your pocket, two hand operation is a foregone conclusion. One hand has to remove the whole assembly, and then the individual tools get removed (however awkward the attachment method makes it) with the other hand...if that is true, my analogy was flawed to begin with.
