My apologies everybody. I'm a big loser, I know it. I have a lot of excuses for why there has been No progress made on these, but they are just that excuses. When I started these it was during a slow period in my side business, and now well things have picked up considerably. Unfortunately I don't think I'll have the time to work on them in the foreseeable either.
Chongman has inquired about buying a few of the blades. I think if he's willing I will donate all the blades to him, if he would like to finish them out.
Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I haven't made much progress.
I have 1 real customer that I do side work for and they got themselves into a bit of a Jam. Long story short I've been spending all my free time building parts for them. It sucks for the side projects like the knives but, it's great for my wallet. Hopefully I can get caught up by the end of the week and get back to fuckin around with fun stuff.
I did manage to get myself a 2 x 42 belt sander, so hopefully I can get the blades cleaned up and ready for heat treat soon.
This is why I don't want to take any money until they are close to ready to go. It seems like this always happens when I get a project going.
Chongman, Wharncliffe Gen 2. Great Idea. Grathlong, It is a flat grind Ogre, I will probably end up building 16 to 18 total and we'll see if there's demand after that. EDB, I've not ordered any handle materials yet. I was thinking Black, Orange and Olive Drab. But we can change that if need be Iggy, I've had a couple people who just want blades, I have no problem just selling the blades to those who want them. Prismatic, Never too late.
I apologize for the slow progress. I've been stupid busy lately. It looks like I will need to buy at least a cheap belt sander to clean these up before Heat treat.
I realize I haven't used any smileys in this whole update, So here you go. :shh: :bro: :sak:  :turtle: :turtle: :luigi: :moon:
I've received the blade material finally. I think I will just send them out to Peters heat treat or Paul Bos when I get them cut. Who ever can do them the quickest.
I'll post some update Pics when I get off my Lazy Ass and actually do something.
I sold my techno, but I looked I looked into this when i had it. If i remember right the issue was the stop pin. It would be right in the way of the flipper.
Couldn't you just lower the flipper or move it down a bit? Or is it necessary to be as high as possible for leverage, or ergonomics while the knife is deployed? So many questions. Wondering if it would make the Techno butt ugly now.
The issue is the filpper would hit the stop pin and keep the knife from opening. the stop pin could be moved but that would require work to the scales.
Jesus fuck I just had an idea (this is very rare). You said cutting blades? Can we get a Techno shaped blade... with a flipper... cut? I don't know where the grinding and stuff would be done. But that would be amazing.
EDIT: Oops. Forgot it might need a bearing system installed too. Doh. Well the knife is thick enough. Would that work without modding the handles though?
