The only fixed blades i have that are "EDCable" are two CRKT minimalists. but they look so darn threatening to people that i end up using a SAK, Leatherman or a Case for anything i cut.

This thread is fucking boring! WHERE THE FUCK IS ALL Y'ALL'S FIXIES?
My favs...
I totally EDC the top one every day.
The DFK Ti Backpacker is still my fav EDC fixie. I use the shit out of it. The only thing that keeps it from being light-saber perfect is that it wont shave hair. (it COULD but that would require actually sharpening it one day) It fucking cuts, doesn't really need to be sharpened and opens beer! :rage:
I have been carrying my SK GSO 4.1(god that's a lot to type and I didn't even type out Survive Knives!) SHIT, now I've completely screwed up! Anyway, I wouldn't call it EVERY day carry but at least once a week. I really can not say enough good things about this knife or the brand. I highly, highly, go rob an old person, recommend these knives!
Last but not least, my Amsler OPMT... I know, I know, It's probably NOT what anyone was thinking when it comes to fixed blades BUT it IS a fixie. I use it every single day. It picks my teeth, my nails, it cuts open boxes and letters! AND it opens freaking beer! LOVE IT!
I'm not jealous at all Boom ok maybe a lil ...thanks for the review...I was thinkin about gettin it for Norse
Did you read the review already?
I'll post a link here for anyone else that's interested: link
It is a pretty nice knife for the price, but it will need some work before it'll make a good carving knife because of the secondary bevel. I think it is worth it though, & the sheath's really nice too.
ps: won't Norse be reading this...? just lemme know if you want me to edit that quote later on

Are you sure..? A kuksa requires a bit harder wood than balsa, or at least I think it will..

You think I should reconsider?? Ya Ya lil harder than balsa I know ...the mora's come super sharp and I don't want him to have to " do some work" before he can use it course I haven't played with the hook knives yet..but I have one comin in this week woot :squee:think I'll try it on some walnut or hickory....hickory is super hard...or it was when I was tryin to bust it :DI saw the link you sent and ya now I'm rethinkin cuz they are so gorgeous

I was just messin' with ya ;)
The Mora is definitely the best carver out of the box. I just lack the technique to keep it in one piece myself
The Tikka does feel nicer to hold after a while but it makes a lousy carving knife out of the box imo. I picked up my unfinished ball-in-a-box again today to compare the Mora/Tikka/Bushcraft against each other & the Tikka can't keep up with neither of them as it is, even though it's bloody sharp already. I'm only guessing, but I suspect that the shoulder of the secondary bevel just gets in the way too much to remove a lot of material smoothly when carving wood, if that makes sense.
But, if he owns a couple of whetstones & doesn't mind spending a few hours on it the Tikka will be a much nicer knife after a little work....I think...
