Howdy. Guess I should create one of these. Not going to repost everything. Kinda just needed a place to put the following pics without cluttering someone's shit up.
Picked up some scrap Ti from STR a while back. Finally got around to messing with anodizing it. Completely amateur and quite a bit of fun.
Strangely the darker colors (that I like more anyway) are easier to get. The purplish kinda color is from 2x 9v batteries. The dark blue is only 3x 9v batteries. At around 99v the titanium starts heating up from the reaction and stuff starts smoking. You can see some of the "burn" colors on the righthand side of the upper piece, last pic. It ascared me!

How did you do it? What liquid? Diet Coke? 9 volt batteries in series or parallel? I want to try
Baking soda, a shitload of baking soda in water. Not distilled or I could've probably had better colors. Hook up 9volts in series, it's cheaper. No added connectors to fuck with. Just need two wires, and a piece of titanium to be the cathode (ideally but can be another metal in a pinch). Plus a tupperware tub.
