Third post, sorry. But here is something Im thinking about doing in my new car (2014 Fiesta hatch) to make it easier to access my carry pistol should the need arise.
Maybe it'll spark an idea from another member to give advice on how to improve on my idea et
thinking about something like this for the Fiesta
Currently I keep my LCP in its little pouch it came in, along with a spare, loaded mag. but the problem is quick deployment i reckon that if I needed to use it, I might not have time.
So im playing with idea of something like this, or maybe a kydex sheath I think I have space to place it on center tunnel/console right by the drivers seat. Aimed down, it should be non-detected by prying eyes. Then it'd be more 'quick draw' style
made here in NC www.magna-arm.com they are 20 bucks and offered at the local gun shows (as well as many gun shops), and one of them is this weekend. Im thinking this + kydex might be best bet but not sure
I'd fear that it's too near to any pedals and it seems you have to bend quite low to get it. Is there the possibility to attach it higher, best somewhere next to where your hands are normally during driving?
So I've talked to this company about what will fit my LCP and have a spare mag holder, its like 50-60 bucks. Plus shipping. dang.
But I went to a gun show today... Long story short, I got a deal on a nylon holster (sized for LCP and similar .380 pistols) with spare mag pocket for ten bucks. It had a tear on the side I wont need to mount it and doesnt affect the actual holster - thread tore where the other sides belt loop is. So thats cool. Now to find some plastic hooks/clips that I can make work.
I'll update as I do more with this, Im about to start looking for the clips that I'll need, then just some 1/2" or so nylon webbing, which will be easy to source.
