If you truly want a practical and useful knife then I highly recommend Bob Dozier. That guy is a 100% no frills, no gimmicks knife maker when it comes to making knives. I have owned two of his knives and they are everything you need and nothing you don't. Give him a call and see if he will offer to make you a knife with your elmax. If he is even half as good with the elmax as he is with D2 then your knife will shave the peach fuzz off a woman's nether parts by the time he's done with it. Believe me I know! :-D

3) Bob Dozier. Right. I'll remember that name, the next time I want to spend a few hundred, instead of improving my own skills.
I should be more professional, and less sarcastic, than that, but I think Zombieslayer has missed the point. If Doc simply wanted somebody to make him a knife, he could just as easily have gone to any one of over two dozen currently working makers with established reputations.
He did not.
He asked us what he should do with it, and I PM'ed him, because I saw an opportunity to do several things at once, including making a knife for a fellow forum member.
If I made offense to your honor then I cry your pardon Sir. It was never meant as an insult, only a suggestion. Please forgive me of my social ignorance and etiquette.
