When I first joined EDCS I saw where willydigger put scales on a Gerber Zip Blade, I was stoked!

Equipped with dremel tool, files, and some sandpaper I went at it today. I'm only going to scale one side
because of the frame lock...well, maybe. I'm not sure about attaching the scale to the frame, most likely epoxy.

Wood- Amboyna Burl

The hardest part was getting the nerve to plunge that dremel bit in the wood for the first time!

I have 4 zip blades on order so a couple off these will be available. Two more scale type choices
to come, Zebrawood and the same Dymondwood that I made beads from.

Kind of. They have defined curls. It is a medium dark wood with stripes of curl that are super crazy insane chatoyant. There are grades of Koa though. Some you can't even tell have curls. Some POP. I'll find you some pics so you know the difference.

It looks a lot better than the picture but it's not really premium grade,($6.10 for two pieces).
