My first knife was an "Official Boy Scout" folder, made by Camillus I think. It was given to me at the age of 12 by my grandfather. My mom had a fit but grandpa ruled. In a few days I cut my thumb and all hell broke loose! Grandpa ruled again and I got to keep it. "Boy has to learn what he's doing, that's all there is to it".
If you keep your knife sharp serrations are never needed
I agree, but on the other hand I do believe everyone should figure out what works best for him/her themselves, so I would like to give the kid a chance to try them too.
But there will be more birthdays, lets just see how this goes first.
I agree......my opinion on them IS I FRIEKING HATE SERRATIONS.
The little fish knife is a traditional Czech slipjoint they call 'rybička' or literally little fish. Mikov makes them (most popular Czech knife company that makes a ton of autos) but I believe there are some cheaper versions too. Either way it's a lovely little blade and it's great that it also carries some memories

I know about the Czech fish knife as in the one I linked for LDG, but are you saying my old little fish knife is an earlier version of it?
If you have any more info on then it please post it.
The only mark on it is a little logo, but it's so small that it's hard to see what it's suppose to be. I think it is a flower of some sort:
Come to a place like the farm and one will thoroughly understand the importance of Serrations...
You've got a farm AND a shooting range?
Life is soo unfair sometimes
ps: I didn't mean to start a serrations vs plain-edge conversation guyz, but if you all feel like having one perhaps someone should make a thread about it?
