No worries. Titanic and Pearl Harbor are just different animals. Gladiator is one of those flicks... you know, a period piece about the good 'ol days before wild trigger-pulling shoot-'em-up firearms. They remind us of a calmer, gentler, simpler era when people had to settle disagreements in a more genteel way - by hacking limbs and heads with broad-ass SWORDS! Stabbing with DAGGERS, piercing with ARROWS, HATCHETS, BATTLE AXES, MACES, CROSSBOWS... kinder, gentler weapons. Gladiator, 300, Braveheart and the like, are cinematic time capsules that fill us with nostalgia and remind us of how life should be.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!? - Maximus, Gladiator
THEY MAY TAKE OUR LIVES, BUT THEY'LL NEVER TAKE...OUR FREEDOM!!! - William Wallace, Braveheart
THIS IS SPARTA! - Leonidas, 300
Well, yeah, there's that.
For me, it's also the story of one man's triumph against tyranny. These movies speak to me because, I see myself in the same way, fighting a lone, and often losing, battle against the world.
Too much information?

That's my brotha from another African-American motha. I was thinking of tatting THUG LIFE over my belly but then people would confuse me for my deceased broheim.

My friend came here from El Salvador and lived in South Central LA for a year then got shot in the head. We figured that made him gangster enough to put SOUTH CENTRAL across his belly. The dude is a G.
Yes, I am indeed delicious. There was this one time I went to Canada and I had to talk to an immigration officer. He looked at my passport and said... "Mile? Your name is Mile? Like the imperial length measurement?" I just looked at him in the way that clearly signalized him to fuck off. I would have told him so, but then I wouldn't have gotten into Canada.
Late as usual.... So, to catch up, if you've not seen Titanic its about a ship that's attacked by Japanese torpedo planes and it sinks, and Pearl Harbour is about an ice berg that drifts into Hawaii and sinks some ships. They're quite similar, really. Oh and John Travolta and Uma Thurman have as dance on a liner, which sinks. And samurai swords appear somewhere, maybe the Japanese use them to sink ships. There's a lot of ships sinking anyway. Like the Poseidon Adventure.
