Looking for 5-7 inch blade. Also would prefer something 1/4 thick. Anything out there that can trump the BK2 in relative size (don't want need a 7+ blade) and thickness? I would prefer non FFG. This will be primarily a batoning knife.

I don't think the 6 is thick enough and it's needlessly more expensive.

Isn't the Becker Companion a BK2?

Nope. I prefer to waste my money on fancy leather wallets.

There is only one factory knife I know of that is thicker than the Campanion/BK2.
So are you looking for a different blade shape? More, less, something else? Help me out, because we're heading for Busse territory, and that's expensive shit!

Looking for the simple answer. Sounds like I have it.

If you insist on looking for a complicated answer, that same website has products by a company called TOPS. They're advertising is goofy. Like: Cold Steel goofy, but their knives are good.
The Army issued me one of those overseas. It's in my footlocker of my military "hand me downs" now. I know it's not what you're lookin for, but I think they're awesome.
Well, if we're going there, then I'll get out the "Bladeforums Standard Answer":

I have a Wetterlings hatchet. It does a good job. I still need a batoner though. The hatchet chopped up some big logs, but I needed the blade to breakdown the fire wood into smaller (easily burnable) strips.
Having the bigger blade and a longer blade will make it a little easier for my son.
BK2 is ordered. Now I have to hunt for a chuck of cocobolo large enough for scales.

I don't like doing them. The precision required to keep eat side flat is extremely difficult. The ridges would be tough too. For a fitter finish Cuscadi is the likely option. I don't know the cost though. Likely cheaper than me with a better outcome.

I need to find a stump when I'm camping. Is the LMF full tang?
