Anyone ever hear of these? Nicknuks - handmade EDC-able nuckles. The guy makes 'em and sells them through his Facebook page only. Different runs of different materials... each run contains one-of-a-kind work (each piece has unique grinds). Like Atwood, he posts the sale and it sells out within five minutes. Like Atwood, his prices are not insane, but go WAY up on secondary market.
Seems everyone on Toolbooks loves them. They seem sweet as hell, and only go for $39 if you catch a sale. I THINK I just nabbed one! Sweet!
A lot of "new" makers have scored big with their "oops I posted on Toolbook and now people want what I make" posts. Some check with Peter first which is cool. Others just ride coattails.
Some get called out like Nicknuks and I laughed when you summed up the solution as cutting the sides off because it's too funny and sad, but correct. Then he was called out for making a Jones Bros Magic Mushroom
I wouldn't mind a nanoknuck as it represents one of his knucks but can be part of a keychain setup and looks cool, but even those have skyrocketed in the aftermarket. Oh well.
I may be wrong but from watching how resale works for other collectables I can't imagine prices staying up like that much longer. Usually the insane high prices come right before the crash.
As for knuckle dusters. Impractical and of questionable legality, but I can appreciate the art of them
Personally, I like the Nicknuks design over the Afrankart type stuff because they look more abstract. The Afrankart stuff is obviously a Knuck - a weapon. The Nicknuks are kinda like a giant bead. And cheap: $39 is no real sweat.
I can see where one would appeal to women that jog early in the morning or later at night. I'm just trying to see a thickness. 1/4" or so it appears. But, I will agree with Gus, they do remind me of a keychain decoration.
