Today I went to a gun show in North Carolina, found some good stuff
first: A table that, I think, had accidentally put the PMC Xtac 5.56 in the wrong area, only $8 each for the greentip NATO ammo. Had three boxes, bought three boxes.
then: Seen this guy at a few different gun shows over the past six months or so and been wanting to pick up another swisscard by victorinox, but he always wanted 30 bucks for it. Today he had a sign "all swiss army knives $15" and the swiss card was with that
AND THEN! on the way back in (had to run out and roll my windows up from a downpour that came about) I found this! Twelve US dollars laying on the floor...

I love Gun Shows. I love all the Nazi paraphernalia. I constantly walk around with a look on my face like someone just farted.

ah yes, the smell of BO and gun oil.
i like them, always find something neat to buy one guy has a BUNCH of used SAK and LMs micras are 12 ea or 2/$20 full sized LM and Gerber (had kick, one that doesnt have a name - handle just says 'leatherman tool' or something, and some Juice) for 30ea or 2/$50 small SAK for $6 or 2/$10, most are branded (like one with Pergo or "49ers logo etc) I considered some, but decided to save my money
also saw a neat gauge/dial thing, it came off a 50cal tripod/stand. it was this ring with hashmarks all around it, numbered. I thought id be cool to get for a bike project down the road, but with no real idea how id use it I couldnt justify 15 bucks on it
buy one day and it gets you in both days, so i might stop in on my way out of town tomorrow after work. we'll see. if i go i know i'll just spend more money

my grandpa was 82nd airborn. jumped into Normandy at 19. Hes still kickin at 85 years old. his stories are absolutely amazing, and frequently very disturbing and shocking.

saturday i went to another local gun show
no money found this time :(
first I stopped by the Victorinox dealer and picked up a Swisscard file/screwdriver that I'd ordered from him about two months ago (I dont live near him, so just waited til the next gun show) two dollars
then im walking around and there was a table with some old belt buckles, got these two old Camel Racing buckles for five bucks for the pair
GT Sportscar roadracing
AMA Pro motorcycle roadracing
and thought I'd pick up some more ammo while I was there more green-tip NATO 5.56 for my AR
I've not seen any Camel Racing stuff in years, cool score!
thats the reason i was wanted it originally, i know its old I'll likely give the GT racing buckle to a friend for Christmas maybe. I dont smoke, never have, but being from Winston Salem NC where Camel cigs were/are? made I found it fitting to buy it up
in this pic you can see the belt loop holder (two actually, if you wanted to mount horizontally)that I'll be using - other side is the same way but the threat tore on the bottom of it. No care, wont be using that side anyway and it doesnt affect the holster.
Got three CCCP pins - Im a huge Russian history fan, it was only 10 bucks for these the two that are the same are hat buttons, the other is a hockey button. Dont know if its for olympics or what, havent researched it.
and then I got this thingy....
Guy had a box that said "Anything in box, $2" I asked what the thing was, dude didnt know. I didnt know. I didnt know how I'd use it. But it was neat :) Offered him a buck for it and he said 'sure'
I looked up the company, Ronstan, and they make all sorts of things. Asked on a local gun forum which has a lot of military and former military and got some answers: Turns out its a helo restraint system, so soldiers dont fall out of the helicopter or something. And Im told that they are worth much more than a dollar. I think its neat. I'll find something to do with it eventually. Maybe.
