The two specifications to look for if you want a water resistant or water proof flashlight:

Test duration: 30 minutes Immersion at depth of at least 1 m measured at bottom of device, and at least 15 cm measured at top of device
IP8 or IPX8 Immersion beyond 1 m The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. Normally, this will mean that the equipment is hermetically sealed. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects. Test duration: continuous immersion in water Depth specified by manufacturer
I mentioned this elsewhere, too but it's worth repeating.
While gearing up the other morning, I realized my Key-Mate wasn't on my nightstand. It's so light that I forget it's clipped to a pocket, sometimes.
I also remembered I had just done laundry....
Sorting through the clean laundry, I found it, still clipped where I had put it. I pulled it out, twisted the bezel, and the light came on without fuss or flicker. I took it apart for twenty four hours just to be sure, but it seemed to have gone through a full machine wash and machine dry cycle without any problems.
Twelve dollars, with shipping and handling. I like this flashlight.
