Damn right, if I lived at the tip of the helmet I'd have a row of white sheds too.

Got some vouchers for my birthday too and I couldn't decide what to get, in the end I opted for an Eagletac D25C Ti. Why? So I could have a flashlight that matches my alox...
First impressions, using RCR's its bright, noticeably brighter than my SWM V11R running 14500's. And being TI its light. And the UI is shite!
I'm starting to hate flashlights that insist you loosen heads to access "normal" modes. I'm sure it's for increasing current flow so that the turbo mode can run, but unless you want full power and no battery life all the time, why should we run the risk of loosing the most important part of the flashlight?
Yeah stick it in the pouch... Then why give it a pocket clip (which is actually really nice)?
And the flashing modes... Don't get me started on them, this light has more disco modes than it does normal. I can almost understand them on larger lights that might be used by L.E., but on this itty bitty light?
Just give me low - medium - high (and if I really must a turbo mode) and I'll love you forever.
Having said all that, it is nicely made and the gitd switch cover is nice. I think its a draw between this and my SWM V11R

I have the aa version. Agreed UI is crap. I am constanty going into disco modes when using the lower settings. Overall nice looking and feeling light though, and good brightness
My favorite UI so far has been my zebralight. All 3 llevels accessable from off, all three brightnesses have two levels to chose from, dumb flashy modes very hidden so I never get them by accident. press the button 4 times quickly for battery level report ( flashes 1 through 4 times)
Not a great fan, no, but I do have a lumintop that I quite like. But I've also got a brass one that either flashes on and off randomly on my desk or the head detaches completely.
Not that well hidden on mine, unless I'm missing something. I'd love to know if I am.
Although it means 2 buttons, I like my old nitecore explorer. On off with memory and a mode change button if you need to change it after that, and strobe and SOS completely apart from the output selection.
I use the dim modes a lot around the house when everyone's sleeping, and I adjust the brightness frequently depending on what I'm doing, then I have a tendency to not press the button all the way when trying to turn it of, so ill be tryi g to find somethin in my room at night and end up in the flashy modes and my wife wakes up "wtf!?!?!?"
So it partially user error, and partially that I use my zebralight more, so I'm used to a softer press
Fair play, I only got it last night so am probably getting used to how each output looks IRL. But I still think having 7 flashing modes is excessive and even more so when they are so easily accessible.
Edit: May have cured my anxiety by taking the memory mode off. Now it'll start low each time.
I, like you, feel that a manual is only to be used when all else fails. Howevcer, my personal exception to this rule is IKEA flat packs. I always read all the instructions, second time with the pieces in front of me. Worth it, cos I never have any major problems. Other than that, instructions are for a last resort.
New month and another batch of beads...will this madness ever stop?
Thought I'd change tack a little, went for a couple of Spartans, originally they were to be alox only, but... The ettercap spartan is pretty hard to shoot, especially under fluorescent light with a camera phone, I might have time to take better shots later today (sorry Kamm).
