Carried my ZT 0560 in the pocket today for the first time. Clip is rigged for right hand pocket, and like a dork, I carried it in the left without switching the clip. So, reaching into the left for my wallet and poke, slice, bleed. Now, I suppose carrying it in the right would have the blade against the side of the pocket, but that would have just poked and slice the pants.
So, I am wondering, it seems that carrying a flipper mechanism knife in the pocket (even if done in the CORRECT pocket as I didn't do) is a recipe for sliced something - finger, leg, pants - because the flipper nub is just sticking out begging to be nudged by something in the pocket, or the leg itself. Am I just an incompetent flipper newbie? Is it common knowledge that you don't carry a flipper in the pocket, but sheathed, or in some other mode? Or is it the case that if I'd carried it in the correct pocket, with blade against the pocket side, that it just doesn't tend to get partially opened?
How do y'all carry your larger flippers - Hinderer, ZT, etc.?

Never had any issues with my Kershaw leek, but we're talking a whole different class of flipper here. The leek has an optional slide lock, but I tightened it in the off position.
i carried an 0560 tip in right pocket for a while, no issues at all......but like you said, blade up against pants. also carried a CRKT m16 for several years.....no issues. i was to tsay that one was tip down only though....
I have carried tons of different flippers and have never had a problem with the blade deploying in my pocket. I always carry them in my right pocket though and my little f3 in a watch pocket alot of the time.
