Rise from the dead ancient pen thread...........(insert favorite necromancer chant)
These are my usual rotation of pens depending on where I am going.
The Zebra is usually tucked in my jacket pocket if I am wearing one. The rest I have made. The CF bolt is cut to only fit a Fisher. I wanted to try one that way. Zebra 402 has walnut grip section. 308 Brass twistie uses Cross refills, Cocobolo Antique Brass finish Tech Bolt uses Parker/Fisher, Click pen is Bocote and uses Parker/Fisher.
The two FPs that reside on my keyboard. I like fountain pens for taking notes with. Usually don't carry one, though.
My first fountain pen. I like this one. Needs more ink.
Rollerball that is the same size as the fountain above. This one is turned in Moon Glow. Yes, I have a glow in the dark pen. Well, more than one...
Woah i'm really liking that last one. Would schmidt fit in that one as well?
Being mod of EDCS is like being a principle of a home school or the governor of Nebraska. - Roy He's like a stray cat. You have to put your hand out and wait for him to come, then you lop the balls off and declaw the motherfucker. - Max
Schmidt is typically the one size fits all rollerball. Most rollerballs are similar external dimensions and then they change the ball and ink mix to their own secret formulas. Some makers use ceramic balls, some tungsten, others stainless.
The last pen doesn't allow the cap to be screwed on the back. Similar to a CC Embassy, you have to hold it or set it on the desk.
This one has a cap with magnets in it to post on either end magnetically. Not sure I am really happy with this one as the burl looks like it trapped wax, and I didn't use wax. There is another version of this in rollerball and another with a full metal cap that the body is the only turned piece on it.
