adding the wrench on the outside is a really good idea that Im sure mayn NEVER even consider, really thinking ahead.
considered cash?
If you think of past major events, cash is king. PMs will be of use once things settle down and you can convert to the prevailing currency. Is this meant to be a supplement to your BOB? Do you include assets is your kit?
Jim, if you want a SAM splint, I could probably round a couple up from the dead FAKs we have. All the bandages and good shit have been raided or used so there is only splints and mylar blankets and I snagged them.

Good point. I thought about adding some silver coins to the first one but didn't. There are some in my actual BOB and I should add at least a couple in the next cache I think.

Silver rounds will be on me. Don't plan on burying any of those. Food, water, and shelter would be the highest priorities at that point.
Speaking of food, I have ventured into a second project in which I leave self-sustaining plants on the property to grow at their leisure until such time as I may need them.
I'll just make it part of this thread instead of a separate one since seeds aren't really EDC
Mind if I ask how far away this stash and location are from your home? And, if stuff were to go down, what is your plan to get there?
Thanks! It's about a 3 hour drive, so ideally I'd go as far as I could in the truck, but if I'm walking the whole way, there will be a couple smaller caches along the way with first aid and food. Maybe more if I can find good locations. If I can make it the whole way walking, there will be shelter and food in addition to growing food (unless it's winter, that would suck even more) but stored food and supplies that could get me through until better weather. I hope. Still a really fun project and I'm learning a lot.
Add bolt cutters to your BOB. If the highways get jammed and it's life and death, you can cut the locks / links on access road gates. In a real emergency that requires relocation, rules of the road no longer need be followed. With a truck, medians and access roads can be used. I became keenly aware of people to follow the rules even to their peril, after a storm passed thru PA a few years ago that shut down a highway and caused people to get stuck in fast falling snow. A backup of 50 miles closed the road for two days and the national guard had to walk the highway to give people food / gas. PA 2007 Storm backs up 50 miles of highway
Just got my new GHB for the truck. There are so many pocketses! Gonna have fun putting this together. Only a small list of items in it so far. It's larger than I thought it would be (that's was she said).
