for the MT, whatever you think will be best for your situation. I really like having a Wave on me, so many tools on it but not too huge.
I see you have a sawyer mini filter and a lifestraw, couldnt you ditch one and save the space and weight?
Headed to Target for a little walk anyways, so I'll check out some Leatherman MTs there. The lifestraw is pretty light as-is, but yes, it would save a small amount of space if something else needed to go in. Thanks!
REI or Gander? Not close to me, but yeah, Target had Gerber tools and SAKs. Probably try to catch one on the bay or amazon for a good deal. Thinking Wingman at the moment.

Sidekick, if you're going for the value models. A saw is more useful in a bugout situation than tiny crappy scissors. And you can get an infinitely better pair of folding scissors or combat shears on top of it. Personally, I'd recommend a Rebar unless you need OHO capability. It has a ton of good tools on it, and it has actual screwdrivers instead of a flat phillips or those shitty and butter-like half sized leatherman bits.
Full emergency power to the engines. Ram the Blade Ship.

Plus you can catch the Rebar at Lowes for, I think, 40 bucks. Which for a new, full sized leatherman is a damn good price Also the Rebar has replaceable wire cutters.
I will say that I really like the Wingman and own three of them. They are cheap and if one got lost I wouldnt cry too much. I like the OHO blade, and, personally, I use scissors more than a saw. But either the WM or SK are great entry-level tools on a budget.
